The small and quiet town, which has preserved the appearance typical of the XIX century, is rich in centuries-old history, secrets and famous inhabitants. I.I.Levitan painted more than 200 sketches in Ples, and Fyodor Chaliapin had a personal country house close to Ples. Now only two thousand people live in Ples, and the town itself is called the "town of artists". You are sure to love it from the first minute.

1. Sightseeing tour of the town.
A walking tour of Ples is the first and main point on the agenda of exploring the city. Ples will appear before you from three angles — as a fortress of the first Moscow sovereigns, as a rich trading town in the middle of the XIX century, as an artistic Mecca of the era of Levitan and Chaliapin.

2. House Museum of I.I. Levitan.
On the ground floor of the museum there are landscapes by the great master and his friends. On the mezzanine there are two memorial rooms, in which the authentic atmosphere of the merchant's house of the second half of XIX century is recreated: a workshop overlooking the Volga river and a small cosy bedroom with authentic interior items.

3. The Museum of Landscape Paintings.
The museum has a rich collection of the best masters of landscape painting: I.I.Shishkin, A.K. Savrasov, R.G.Sudkovsky, N.N. Dubovsky, N.A.Clodt, S.Yu.Zhukovsky, S.I.Svetoslavsky, V.V.Perepletchikov, A.M. Korin, V.K.Bialynicki-Birula, and others.

4. Expositions "Artistic crafts of the Ivanovo region".
The exposition is located in a convenient place for tourists: on the embankment, opposite the tourist pier, in the building of the former Flour trade rows. The exhibition presents: jewelry, linen, jacquard weaving, Ivanovo embroidery, works by famous centres of lacquer miniature – Palekh and Kholui.

5. Museum and Exhibition complex "Audience places" 
The former state audience office building houses the exposition "Ancient Ples and Ivanovo land". It tells about the early periods of the Ivanovo region's history: from the first settlements on this territory to the beginning of the XVII century. The museum fully exhibits 397 items of the unique "Alabuga treasure" — a set of women's jewelry from the VII century AD, sacrificed during the construction of a new section of the Penkovsky settlement's ramparts. As well as the unique cult stones found in the Ples and its surroundings — a labyrinthine and a phallic.

6. Quad bike rides through Ples and the forests — country-cross routes: "Forest trails and fields", "Seven Hills of Ples", "Big Mix", extreme Trophy off-road routes, and driving tutorials.
